The Profit Multiplier Call

June 24, 2013

This past week I noticed how so many people are complaining about their websites – especially about not knowing how to improve conversion rates – but aren’t really doing anything about it…

We, as a human beings, tend to complain so much, don’t we?

What are the things you complain about when it comes to your website?

I’m sure we all have our “this could be better” list….

But worry no more. I am here to tell you just how easy it is to stop complaining and start taking action. You’ll learn how to improve conversion rates and how to improve your website’s drawbacks.

Now let me tell you something I always tell my clients: Conversions should be your website’s first name; this is how you should caress your website.

This is how I caress it. Some call it honey, I call it conversion. Because conversions are one of the most important aspects of a successful website. Roar!

Do you track your website’s conversion rate?

Are you familiar with the opt-in rate of your home page?

What about the conversion rate of your sales page?

Do you want to find out more about how to improve conversion rates?

Then read on…

Below are 3 super tips on how to improve conversion rates that will kick a** – and I am afraid that if you haven’t already implemented them into your online marketing strategy, you’ll have to do it like… yesterday.

Once applied, you’ll see that these 3 tips do not only increase your website’s conversion rate, they also make your website look prettier.

You know, for the ladies. Or gents. Anyway, it will look good and have an increased productivity; what more do you need?

1. Come up with a USP, or Unique Selling Point

Whether to develop a USP for your company or not… that may be debatable.

What isn’t debatable, however, is the decision of your prospects: if a prospect has a bunch of vendors to choose from, will they choose you over your competition?

Who are they going to buy from?

Therefore, before you send a ton of traffic to your website, make an inventory of your competition – it will help you a lot in learning how to improve conversion rates.

Here are some questions to then help you figure out your USP:

  • Why are you different from other businesses offering similar products or services?
  • Why should I buy from you instead of someone else in the same industry?
  • Why should I buy now instead of waiting or doing nothing?

Tip: Could you develop your USP as being the “go to” company for a very tight subject matter?

You can also differentiate yourself from your competitors by specializing locally rather than globally.

2. Does your website have an Overall Professional Look?

Buying a good looking and professional theme is a good investment anytime, and they definitely are part of the answer to the question, “How to improve conversion rates?”. Not to mention that you can find up to 30-40 professional themes (if not more!) for only $35 on Elegant Themes.

Of course, free themes are available for those who are not willing to spend money on their website’s design.

If you’re among them, make sure the theme you choose is clean and user-friendly; many free themes have all sorts of bugs and problems that you will have to address asap.

When you’re out shopping for a theme, do it with your end goal in mind.

Make sure the theme you choose will help you accomplish your goals and it will show you how to improve conversion rates.

3. Use Incentives for your Lead Capture

These days, offering an eBook for free is sometimes not enough to get the opt-in you’re craving for. Your incentive must appeal to your target market and have a high perceived value.

As a general rule, you will not get leads using the bait, “Sign up for [our company’s] latest news” as the biggest benefit for people joining your subscribers’ list. Do people really care about your company’s latest news? Don’t forget what they always ask: What’s in it for me?

Test different incentives, such as a coupon, free shipping offer, print catalog, or free gift.

What can you give away for free that makes people jump up in ecstasy? Nothing shows you how to improve conversion rates better than a yummy opt-in bait thrown at your website’s visitors… Mrrrr… 🙂

4. Use a lead capture tool

If your website attracts more than 50 daily visitors, it is high time to install a lead capture tool. Pop Domination is the one I am using for my website and it’s doing a wonderful job. I’m going to tell you in a minute what I mean by this.

A lead capture tool will ensure that you are not wasting all that traffic to your website – just think about how many of those daily visitors are potential customers.

If you are still wondering how to improve conversion rates then there is no better advice I can give you than this: use a lead capture tool!

I told you I am using Pop Domination… well, my opt-in rate increased more than 20%. You can find out more about this here.
