Like any other #strategy, you need to think your #FacebookStrategy for the long run – not weeks, but months ahead. (Did you spot the Tweetable? Then share it with your friends here)
Here are the 3 key rules of a magnificent Facebook strategy:
1. Define your goals
What are your goals with this page? What are you trying to achieve?
There are 2 main reasons why people create official Facebook pages for their businesses:
- they want to create a bond with their audience
- they want to grow their business by increasing their sales
Once you know what you are aiming to achieve through your business page, you are one step closer to creating a solid Facebook strategy. Why? Because now you know WHY you built it, which is THE MOST IMPORTANT trigger of your success.
Knowing your #WHY shows you your #HOW. (Did you spot the Tweetable? Then share it with your friends here)
2. Devise a strong action plan
You cannot win the war if you do not have a battle plan for it, can you?
I remember I started my online adventure with small steps, taking one challenge at a time… It was the same with my Facebook strategy. I spent about a week creating a schedule for my posts. It was tiresome, I admit. But the moment I had my strategy in front of me I knew there is not a single more pleasant thing on Earth than knowing I made it.
So spend as much time as you need to customize your action plan.
Here’s a tip: start by determining how many posts you want to publish a day. If you settle for 3, then you can envisage your weekly schedule.
For example, you can have these 3 Monday posts:
- Share funny quote
- Share an article of an expert you follow
- Ask your audience a question – interact with them
Then find out other 3 ideas for Tuesday, Wednesday and the entire week.
Remember: the pattern I suggest for your Facebook strategy is purely orientative; you will have to think about something that suits your business, and your business only.
Speaking of strategies, I saw a movie about this topic some while ago. Although it is quite old, it still fits this topic like a glove. It’s called Valkyrie, a movie based on a true story. You can watch the trailer here. If you are going to watch it, let me know what you think about it!
3. Measure your results
Every #strategy which cannot be measured is created in vain. (Did you spot the Tweetable? Then share it with your friends here)
Therefore, you need to start measuring your efforts and monitor your results. In time you will see which posts are most popular and you will be able to pinpoint the things your audience likes.
Thus you will be able to improve your action plan. Yes, you action plan is no static. You will have to alter it from time to time in order to respond to your audience’s requirements.
In time, you will see that your Facebook strategy is more and more customized for your followers and that the interaction with your posts grows each day.
This is what I mean when I say you should get to know your followers. With the right Facebook strategy you will not only know your fans better, but you will also be able to get better results with your page – the results YOU want.
That’s it!
