I had a conversation some time ago with a business owner that really loves Facebook. He uses it daily for marketing, but when I asked him about twitter marketing, his answer was, “I don’t quite understand it and honestly don’t know why there’s all the fluff around it,” and similar phrases.
To keep this short the main problem was that he didn’t have all the information about how much traffic can a twitter account can bring to your business if you use it right.

So, let me show you some of the things that you should be doing in order to make sure you use it right.
1. Network Proactively
Well-known brands have no trouble gaining fans on Twitter, but newcomers and small businesses have more challenges building up a following. The goal of Twitter is to gain followers and connect with them, so one way to overcome this is by being proactive. Follow other, similar businesses and leaders in your speciality to find likely followers for your own organization.
2. Use Tools
There are plenty of add-ons you can use to make Twitter marketing even easier, such as Hootsuite or BufferApp
Setting up automated tweets if you’re going to be out of town, and syncing up your tweets with Facebook are just two examples of how external software can improve your Twitter experience.
3. Post interesting content for your audience.
Probably you already know this, maybe this sounds boring because you already know this ….but, are you really doing it? Just think about it once more, right now. Do you really know what your audience wants, and do you post content accordingly?
If you answers is a confident yes, congrats! You are doing your job, my friend! If not, start researching and create proper content for your audience.
4.Use Hashtags
Hashtags were created by Twitter users as a simple way to categorize messages. They consist of a # symbol in front of a keyword or topic in a Tweet. (For example”Visit this link for more #onlinemarketing tips.”)
5. Use Twitter Directories for Expanding Your Network
An interesting Twitter Directory is Twellow and it’s the twitter yellow pages. All you need to do is Browse through Twitter users to follow them or list yourself to get followers and you are done!!!
