I don’t know if you’ve experienced this, but I’ve come across this problem more often than I’d like and I wanted to address it here.
Try to visualize this…
You’re reading an informative and helpful article offering great advice on how to solve a certain problem you have.
You really enjoy the article and it’s got you hooked till the end.
You read the whole thing.
You’re a happy camper! It gave you exactly what you were looking for!
With the great insight you just received, your creative juices are flowing and you’re ready to get a brainstorming session going on how you can figure out a way around that pesky problem of yours.
You leave the website thinking something like “Wow, I’m so glad I found that blog post! It was really useful!”
But wait! What’s wrong with this picture?
The blog owner made a mistake by not having an email signup form at the end of the article.
And if you don’t have an email signup form below EACH of your articles, YOU are that person too.
You just lost an amazing opportunity to connect with someone who liked what you wrote!
Someone who appreciated your expertise and perhaps wanted even more useful advice from you – but the thought of subscribing to your updates didn’t even cross his mind because THERE WAS NOTHING THERE TO REMIND HIM TO DO THAT.
You just lost someone (maybe forever!) who could have become a future client of yours.
Having an email signup form with a clear call to action will ensure this never happens again
Makes sense, right? Right!!
So today I’m going to share with you a few guidelines to creating the perfect email signup form for your articles:
- Use eye-catching graphics or images – there is a saying: “A picture’s worth a 1000 words.”
- Make your heading & body text attention grabbing and convincing – it should be something that appeals to your ideal client, not you!
- You can even use tools like Hybrid Connect to try A/B testing and keep the options that deliver the best conversions for you!
Action time for you!!
Add an email signup form on your blog. If you don’t know how to do it, there are dozens of plugins that help you with this process and many tutorials to talk you through the process. Here is one of them.
